Welcome MoreDoor lovers and thanks to Jeremy W. from Etowah, TN for taking the time to let us get to know him and his MoreDoor. Jeremy, who has a soft spot for wagons and saw the uniqueness it had, bought his 1962 Studebaker Lark Station Wagon from a friend after showing it to his then girlfriend, now wife and she loved it! He happens to be very proud of his wife’s taste in classic cars, as he should be. So now it has a permanent and secure place in the White household. One of his favorite things about it is it feels like the family station wagon and a cool custom at the same time.

Bought fully restored and in current condition, the Studebaker Lark Station Wagon has a black satin exterior with a white gloss top. Black interior, a white headliner, and 16 inch American Racing wheels wrapped with BFG’s - 225 55R16 in the rear and 205 55R16 in front - complete the package. And it doesn’t just LOOK good; this car has more upgrades and functions than you can shake a stick at! Jeremy gave us the stats: later model GM sub frame with power disc brakes in the front, flush mount front door handles, shaved rear door handles, power steering, aftermarket heat/air, smoothed front and rear bumpers, dual frenched antennas in the rear, frenched license plate, tilt column, some of the front body lines modified from hood to fender, and rewired with a Rebel Wire 21 circuit wiring harness. As for what’s under the hood: Small Block Chevy 350, 700r4 transmission with lockup kit GM 10 bolt rearend. And with all that, he thought he still might be leaving something out! Say what??
Surprisingly enough, this Studebaker isn’t sitting on someone’s show floor and it very rarely sees “just for show” opportunities. Sometimes it functions as the White’s the daily driver and other times it’s hauling Jeremy to shows to sell wiring harnesses – he works for Rebel Wire. The back seat still lifts up and folds down still like factory, so he can lay the seat down, throw his stuff in and go. With all of the modern upgrades, it responds well to road conditions, and gets good fuel mileage. Personally, I love to see guys and families that USE their classic cars and give them a second life so kudos to you Jeremy making those MoreDoor memories!
Future plans for the Studebaker? Jeremy just wants to drive and enjoy it like it was meant to be enjoyed. He would like to take it on a long road trip as it’s been a couple of hours away from home, but he’d like to go further. Where you ask? “Anywhere,” Jeremy wrote. “There’s just a different feeling about driving an old car that can’t be matched by a new one.” We couldn’t agree more.
