My family and friends have always been part of the car culture attending car shows, swap meets, cruise-ins, or other car gatherings. I wanted to continue that tradition with my own family, and luckily, my wife was onboard. My uncle ran across a solid and original 1962 Chevy Impala four door. At first, I was reluctant because it was a four door, but the price was right. Also, I liked the four door idea because of the easy access to the rear seat to be able to fit three car seats. I pulled the trigger and bought it. We have thoroughly enjoyed the Impala ever since.
First and foremost, I want to help keep the car culture going in any way I can with the budget, time, and ability that I have. All antique, vintage, or classic cars, trucks and motorcycles deserve to be preserved because they helped shape where the culture is today. Once they are gone, they are gone. I did not grow up dreaming about owning a classic four door (a.k.a. MoreDoor), but have really come to appreciate them while owning my ’62 Impala. My intent with the creation of MoreDoorClassics.com is to:
- share my growing appreciation for cool MoreDoor classics
- feature and share cool MoreDoor classics I run across
- share anything else I want to do regarding MoreDoor classics
I do recognize that MoreDoors are not widely appreciated amongst the car culture, but they do have their place in history and the car culture. My intent with the creation of MoreDoorClassics.com is NOT to:
- say that I will always own only MoreDoors
- say that MoreDoors are worth more money than two doors
- advocate for MoreDoor only car shows or gatherings
Just to be clear, I am an automotive enthusiast. I enjoy all types of collector or classic car whether two door or four door. The car culture is geared toward the two doors and there is no shortage of STUFF out there for them. This website will be geared toward share MoreDoor STUFF or MoreDoor RELATED STUFF. I hope that over time my visitors will start to grow an appreciation of MoreDoors so that they are not viewed as only as parts cars, yard ornaments, scrap metal, the red-headed stepchildren, or the orphans of the car culture.
MoreDoorClassics.com is geared toward what I consider to be cool MoreDoor Classics.
